    Revenge: God’s Department, Not Ours

    By Stephen Bloom | August 19, 2009

Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written, ‘It is mine to avenge, I will repay,’ says the Lord. - Romans 12:19

Don’t let a desire for vengeance draw you into a legal mess. If you’re taking legal action to get revenge, you’re telling God you don’t trust Him to do what He promises.  If your faith is real, then allow God to do the avenging, if and when and how He sees fit. As humans, revenge is above our paygrade! The Bible tells us over and over to forgive, but warns us not to seek revenge. If we do our job (forgiveness), we leave room for God to do His job.

wHOA, I am really suprised when I read this one…

REVENGE is God’s not ours… How about Transformers?

      No, I’m just kidding…

What I really meant is what if you had a bitter betrayal? What if someone betrayed you? Could you give REVENGE? I mean a sweet one? :D

I agree with you. God avenge for my pains when someone hurt me so much. It’s very tempting to revenge but I can’t find the courage to hurt myself even more. What I did was I prayed to God, talked to Him about my hurts and confusion and asked for the courage to straighten myself and to move on. I was surprised when I found out that the one who hurts me has failed and now bury in deep misery. Although, and I admitted that I was happy, maybe because I was given justice and because that’s one of the confirmation that God really loves me so much!

Hatred and revenge brings nothing good to us. It’s better to let God make the judgement for those who sin against us.We should never let our anger destroy us for that will only bring us destruction. We should also remember that hiring attorneys will cause pain to our pockets.
