Don’t shop for groceries hungry, don’t hire a lawyer angry
By Stephen Bloom | December 12, 2009
What happens when you walk into a grocery store hungry? You want pretty much everything you see, and you walk out with more stupid junk and less cash than you ever imagined.
What happens when you walk into a lawyer’s office angry? The same thing. You make bad decisions and waste lots of time and money on stupid junk. Your lawyer may be okay with that, but you shouldn’t be.
Listen to God’s counsel:
Losing your temper is foolish; ignoring an insult is smart. - Proverbs 12:16 (CEV)
Controlling your temper is better than being a hero who captures a city. - Proverbs 16:32 (CEV)
It’s wise to be patient and show what you are like by forgiving others. - Proverbs 19:11 (CEV)
Be smart. If you find yourself in a potential legal mess, first focus on overcoming your anger and forgiving others. If you’ve done that and you still feel the need to hire a lawyer, fine, go ahead. Just don’t be foolish and hire a lawyer angry!
Question: Have you ever regretted a legal decision made in anger?

I'm a lawyer, but I don't want your business. I want to help you avoid the misery of lawsuits and lawyers. Really.

Anger hides the rational mind. After doing something on impulse because you are angry, you may want to curse yourself of adding mess to your life because what you did make the problem worse. It is because when we are angry we want justification, we want to do something that we think is right but oftentimes it is not.
